After Uruguay was kicked out of the World Cup, Luis Suarez went after FIFA

After Uruguay was kicked out of the World Cup in the group stages, Luis Suarez didn’t hesitate to question FIFA.

In what was likely his last World Cup, Luis Suarez was taken off the field and watched as Uruguay beat Ghana 2-0. However, they were kicked out of the tournament when South Korea beat Portugal late in the game.

After Hwang Hee-late chan’s goal, South Korea had the same number of points as Uruguay, but they won because they scored more.

When Daniel Amartey seemed to trip over Darwin Nunez in the second half, Uruguay should have been given a penalty. If they had scored it, they would have moved on to the next round of 16.

Suarez told Teledoce about what happened after the game, as well as about a challenge on Edinson Cavani and how he felt about it: “I feel sad and disappointed. My son is also leaving the stadium with that sad image in his mind, which is hard for a father, but he has to deal with what he has.

“I think Cavani should get a penalty because the defender cut him off and put his body in front of him. His is also very clear. It’s not an excuse, but this World Cup is giving out some crazy penalties. And there’s the referees’ committee and FIFA. At least they should try to explain themselves better.”

He went after FIFA again by saying, “I saw a France player on the bench with his kids.” So why always (is it a problem) against Uruguay? It looks like we need another power at the media level to get my kids to come down for a second to say hi to me, but that’s FIFA.”

The 35-year-old still doesn’t have a club and probably won’t play for Uruguay at the next World Cup in 2026. Time is running out on his career, where he did well at Liverpool and Barcelona.
