After Argentina defeated France to win the 2022 World Cup, footballer Rodrigo de Paul had little hesitation in praising his country’s performance.
The champion of the tournament was determined after 120 minutes of fantastic football and a penalty shootout, with the game ending in a 3-3 tie before Argentina triumphed 4-2 on penalties.
Rodrigo de Paul played a pivotal part for La Albiceleste during the entire tournament in Qatar, and he did so again against France. Still, he praised the entire squad’s attitudes and performances.
After being declared World Cup champion, the Atletico Madrid player stated: “We endured a great deal of suffering, but it feels so amazing now. We were born to suffer, and it hardens us since we will continue to suffer throughout our lives.
“We take the flag everywhere we go; I hope our supporters are as delighted as we are.”
28-year-old De Paul was instrumental for Lionel Scaloni as Argentina won the Copa America last year, and he played in every match for his country in Qatar as they went all the way.
As a defender for La Albiceleste in the center of the field, the midfielder demonstrated tenacity and aggression.
