Can you name the injured French players that will be missing the World Cup?
Very many.

Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante, two crucial players in France’s 2018 World Cup victory, won’t be able to participate due to injury. While their two stars are sidelined, Les Bleus’ midfield choices don’t appear very fantastic.

Elsewhere Injuries have also kept Mike Maignan out of the game. As France’s captain, Hugo Lloris was always going to start in goal, but had he been healthy, Maignan would have been the finest possible backup.

Centre-back Axel Disasi of Monaco replaced Presnel Kimpembe, who had been originally selected for the team but had to drop out due to injury.

Who are the top French athletes?
Benzema, Karim
The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner was unquestionably the finest player in the world. He led Real Madrid to league and cup doubles in both the domestic and European seasons, scoring 44 goals and dishing out 15 assists in 46 matches (one goal every 66.4 minutes).

His dominance in the Champions League is a major reason why he deserves to win the Ballon d’Or in 2022. In that tournament alone, the 34-year-old scored 15 goals, 10 of which came in the postseason.

The French star has dealt with injury concerns this season, but he should be ready to go for his country at the opening of the tournament.

Kylian Mbappé
Kylian Mbappe, still only 23 years old and the tournament’s breakout sensatio, is one of the few players in the world who can win games on his own in the knockout phase.

This season, Mbappe has scored 18 goals in 19 games for his club, while he has scored four goals in six games for France’s national team in 2022.

He’s a big deal now.

In honor of Aurelien Tchouameni.
Does France have a top player in Tchouameni?

He essentially must be if they are to have any shot at winning the World Cup.

The midfielder has been adequate for Real Madrid since his transfer there, but he has to take his performance to a new level this coming season. He is their best option in the middle of the field now that Pogba and Kante are injured and unable to play.

The French team’s expected starting XI
Like clockwork, Didier Deschamps will deploy a 4-3-3 shape. While Pogba and Kante are out, the rest of the starting lineup should be very straightforward to predict.

French starting eleven: Lloris; Pavard; Varane; Kimpembe; T. Hernandez; Rabiot; Tchouameni; Camavinga; Mbappe; Benzema; Dembele.

the state of France’s national team as the World Cup approaches
It’s fair to say that Les Bleus haven’t exactly been on fire as of late.

They played in Group D of the Nations League and concluded with a 1–6 record, losing twice to rivals Denmark.

Previous five French results (all competitions)
France and Croatia tie 1-1 in a penalty shootout (Nations League)
France and Austria tie 1-1 (Nations League)
Score: France 1–1, Croatia (Nations League)
There was a 2-0 victory for France over Austria (Nations League)
France defeats Denmark, 2-0 (Nations League)

To what place do you predict France will fall in the World Cup?
The oddsmakers have France as the second favorite to win the 2022 World Cup, but their reasoning is unclear.

Their recent play has been terrible, injuries have ravaged their midfield, and previous World Cup champions have not fared well at the competition.

We expect Deschamps’s men to be knocked out of the tournament early because of these factors.
