Lionel Messi was missing from Argentina's last World Cup training session

Lionel Messi was missing from Argentina’s Thursday training session ahead of Sunday’s World Cup final against France.

It is believed that Messi has been functioning at less than 100 percent during the whole winter, making his five goals and three assists even more astounding. During the semi-final victory against Croatia, Messi was spotted clutching his hamstring.

Nevertheless, Lionel Messi played the 90 minutes and dominated again, although he was absent from the team’s first Thursday training session.

According to Ole, the media was authorized to view 15 minutes of La Albiceleste’s training session, during which Messi could not be seen. Whether he returned to exercise after the cameras were removed is unknown.

Messi, with Rodrigo de Paul and Emiliano Martinez, is thought to have been in the gym, skipping a session in which former striker Sergio Aguero wore his boots and participated in a light workout.

Aguero was forced into retirement by the revelation of a heart problem in late 2021. However, he has been a member of Lionel Scaloni’s support staff in Qatar, and he participated on Thursday.

Messi’s participation in the final is not considered in jeopardy. Argentina’s medical team has often pulled the veteran forward from training sessions to manage his load throughout the frantic World Cup event.
