Liverpool can beat Real Madrid, says Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, has revealed the secret weapon that will enable his team to win the Champions League and defeat Real Madrid for the first time.

The matchup between these two teams in the round of 16 is not just the most anticipated matchup of the round, but also a rematch of the championship games from 2018 and 2022.

But Klopp thinks it will work in Liverpool’s favor since Los Blancos will have to go to a raucous Anfield this time around.

When asked about the pairings, Klopp remarked, “The first thing we can say about this draw is that it is real Champions League.” We can all agree that this knot is something to celebrate.

Throughout Europe, Real has the best track record. This is common knowledge to us. Ours isn’t perfect, but we know it’s not terrible either. On top of that, we have Anfield, and that means something.

Contrary integer Carlo Ancelotti, in his initial discussion of the tie, also brought up Anfield’s impact.

Again, the same thing will be said [about the draw]: Real Madrid. The Italian predicts that their round of 16 matches will be “a sensational tie” because of the electric atmosphere at Anfield.

In the quarterfinals of the 2020/21 season, Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 3-1 on aggregate despite playing their away match at Anfield to a scoreless draw owing to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Before that, they won 3-0 on Merseyside in the group stage of the 2014–15 season but lost 4-0 to the Reds in the last 16 of the 2008–09 season.
