PSG advisor Luis Campos rubbishes Neymar exit rumour

Luis Campos, who works as a sports adviser for Paris Saint-Germain, said that the club never wanted to sell Neymar during the summer transfer window.

During a busy summer in which Kylian Mbappe finally signed a new deal and Christophe Galtier took over as head coach from Mauricio Pochettino, there were rumours that Neymar might leave Parc des Princes.

But he’s had a great start to the season, outperforming superstars like Mbappe and Lionel Messi. Campos said the Brazilian was never close to leaving, and he shot down rumours that he and Mbappe were at odds.

He told RMC, “Neymar is a very good player. He always shows up on time, and he’s never missed a training session, except for one time when he was in a little bit of pain. He cares about the team and the project of the club.

“Neymar never really thought about leaving PSG. This summer, there were a lot of false rumours about Neymar. Another big lie is that Kylian MbappĂ© wanted Ney to be sold.

Neymar is absolutely a part of our plan.”

So far this season, Neymar has played seven times in Ligue 1 and has scored eight goals and set up six others. He has also played in their two Champions League wins against Juventus and Maccabi Haifa.

On Sunday, PSG will play again when they go to Lyon, who are fifth in France’s top division but have lost their last two games.
