USMNT announce 26-player Qatar roster

USMNT announce 26-player

Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie are two of the stars on the United States men’s national team’s 26-man roster for the 2022 World Cup.

Berhalter has expressed excitement about taking this team to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Making tough roster cuts is never easy, but we value everyone’s efforts that got us here. It is our firm belief that we have assembled a team that is not only skilled but also has a formidable sense of teamwork and is prepared to take the field. We are humbled by the outpouring of love and support from home as we travel to Qatar to represent the United States.

The three goalkeepers were the first big shock of the evening. Zack Steffen was cut by head coach Gregg Berhalter in favor of Sean Johnson, Ethan Horvath, and Matt Turner. Despite Steffen’s ailments in the months running up to the competition, he was a key cog for the American side in Concacaf World Cup qualifying.

Ricardo Pepi, Jordan Pefok, and Mark McKenzie are also notable omissions from the final roster.
